Ruinas de La Campana
This area has been an archeological site since 1917. It was the largest pre-Hispanic settlement in western Mexico. Researchers have discovered several characteristics of the site that bear similarity to Teotihuacan’s classical period. Archeologists have found shards of ceramic pottery from the Capacha era, dating from approximately 1500 BC.
There are several shaft tombs with pottery offerings, as well as rain-water drainage systems, avenues, and a religious administrative center with numerous monuments.
