This village was one of the first settlements founded in 1691 by Franciscans in their trips by the Conchos River. It also served as a residence to the Presidio soldiers on their way from Cerro Gordo to Ojinaga during the 18th Century.
Due to its location, in the confluence of the Conchos and Chuviscar Rivers, especially during the summer months, is a famous spot among chihuahuans for picnics and also for fishing.
Another place that has good leisure facilities is the town of Saucillo, that is located 38 miles to the south of Julimes. This place houses the water palm “Las Palmas”. One will find three pools, a restaurant, sport courts and a nice camping area.
